I've created a hackerspace in my small town in Oregon - I suggest that people do more of this... local libraries are very helpful and will
give you space, and if you advert you'll find many people locally that
are wanting these types of spaces.
Interesting, I'd love to hear more! I'm reminded of the user groups of
the 70s, 80s and 90s - low-overhead means of building a community. Most
makerspaces now have a significant amount of expense involved and act
as a co-op.
I have one makerspace near me that's got warehouse space, another is in
a junior college, a recipient of a grant that bought 3d-printers,
woodworking tools, and computers.
I'm not so good w/ youngsters, but that could be a cool group too...
I'd certainly create a talk if there was one around me.
