I think you're describing the birthdate format. It's currently hard-coded to that format. All other date input/display in the BBS is *not* YYYY/MM/DD.

So now, the birthdate must be entered by the user in either MM/DD/YYYY format (the default) or DD/MM/YYYY (European).

    How do I resolve this?

Yes the birthdate format. So it is hard coded as YYYY/MM/DD then? I guess I can live with it but it seems akward. I don't think I have ever seen a date entered in that fashion. MM/DD/YY or MM/DD/YYYY is the standard isn't it?

Actually, I use YYYYMMDD a lot for filenames, because that makes files automatically get sorted by date in directory listings on modern OSs. :) Don't know if we need to sort birthdates like that, but I definitely prefer to to MM/DD/YYYY, which isn't used here (normally DD/MM/YYYY).

Depends on where in the world you live. Anyway, I changed it now to either MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY depending on the European date setting in SCFG. So that should be more natural to most BBS users and sysops.

YYYY/MM/DD, YYYY-MM-DD or YYYYMMDD are preferred if you want to be able
to sort the dates easily, for instance database DATE fields.

I've tended to prefer YYYY-MM-DD (iso8601 short date form) as it may be unfamiliar at first glance if you aren't used to it, but never
confusing... as when the year is first, the sub-year always follows in
order. If you're in EU or US, or anywhere else for that matter.

YYYY/MM/DD isn't an established format, either use the hyphen or omit a separator.

I find the US format the most confusing, because there's no hierarchy. DD/MM/YYYY is shortest to longest (time period). YYYY/MM/DD is longest to shortest, with those technical advantages in the computer age. But MM/DD/YYYY is a dog's breakfast! :)
