I used to host my server with IStop in Ottawa. Unfortunately it
suffered a hard drive failure and I just happened to be going on
vacation to meet some friends I made while working at Nortel so dropped
    by to pick it up.

It was sitting on a desk with about a dozen other machines. How that
place didn't over heat I have no idea.

Thankfully the disks were mirrored but it just wouldn't boot from the
secondary so I was able to recovery pretty much everything.

I enjoyed my stay there an in Toronto.

I host my own stuff at home and have not "yet" encountered a failure.

Goofy software sometimes, yes, but not goofy hardware.

Plenty of backups here just incase.

I just cleared 1.4 TB of BBS backups off of my NAS -- don't think I
needed backups going back every week for 10 years!

A little pruning was overdue. :)

Woah woah woah... in the earliest backup set, how far back do your messagebases go?

Am trying to find Echomail from whenever up to 2010... 'ish.

But you nuked the backups. Bah.

I'll see what I can dig up - I have other backups on external drives, and I usually try to keep a GFS-sorta backup retention policy.

That might be unfortunate. There are probably messages that could be
    archived :(

I kept monthly/quarterly backups, promised Nick I'd sort through them to
    pull the messages out.
